1.2. Mainstream projects
Globe Ed International School (GEIS)
We are in the process of establishing a hybrid school of premium quality with
international standards (from kindergarten to primary, secondary, high school)
located in Yen Hoa & Cau Giay new towns area. This school system which
covers a total area of 4ha and has an estimated investment of VND 290 billion
(roughly USD 18 million) will be able to admit up to 3500 students when fully
operational.
The construction of its high-tech campuses will be started this year and part of
the school system is expected to be operational from 2006-2007 school-year in
a rolling-out game plan. This is the first pilot school project being invested and
developed by Globe Ed as a model for other similar school projects to be set up
in other parts of Vietnam later as an alternative system of hybrid schools of
world class quality. This is our contribution to the education reform process.
Overseas study & consultancy services (OSCS)
We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with representatives
of many universities in the U.K, U.S, Singapore, Australia…. and are in the process of setting up OSCS offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city in order to develop and operate new educational cooperation services, including student exchange programs and a plan to set up international universities or colleges in Vietnam.
2. Global Resource & Training Center (GRTC)
2.1. Key objectives
Ø In our strategic planning, this center is an interim facility to be set up first to create and run critical training and consulting services of high standards as benchmarks to support the development of mainstream projects,
Ø At the same time, these integrated services will be made available to respond commercially to growing market demand from both public and private sectors at both central and local levels,
Ø As a result, all these activities are expected to contribute to the critical process of education reform.
2.2. Core business & services
a. Information technology (IT)
Ø We offer IT standard skills training for a wide range of professionals, from (1) IT basic skills for general office staff to (2) IT advanced skills for IT professionals involved in technical support, including:
(1) Fundamental and general knowledge of computer, networking and
operating systems, basic security and troubleshooting and office
software to users, etc.
(2) Advanced knowledge for IT professionals providing technical
Support: programming and development, systems and network
administration or security, website development and administration
or security, technical support and troubleshooting, database

Ø We also offer customized IT skills training for selective target groups (including executives in need of practical applied IT skills). They will be provided with a toolset to quickly apply basic IT skills in their work efficiently in a practical manner.
b. English language and communication skills
Ø We offer standard English language courses at various levels through specially designed EFL programs and standard certification service to be provided by a major international academic institution,
Ø We also offer customized courses in both English language and basic communication skills to target groups identified, including a range of core
competences from interpersonal skills to advanced public communication
knowledge (public speaking, chairing conferences, etc.) as required.
c. Leadership and management skills
Demand-driven and customized training courses will be offered to
top executives and other professionals from both public and private sector
organizations.
d. Training & consultancy services
Including training of trainers programs, market research, project

mainstream projects and to respond to general market demand.
2.3. Target market & clients
Ø First, the Center will develop integrated services to support the development of our mainstream projects as indicated (the school being a future flagship),
Ø Second, we will focus on some identified and potential clients in the public sector as a niche market now in transition, including VietnamNet/VASC, Aviation Authority, major airports, custom offices, selective government agencies (CIEM/MPI, SBV/MOF, MOHA, MOET…) and selective provinces (Can Tho, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh…)
Ø Third, we will target selectively the emerging private sector businesses now coming under pressure to change and compete for growth.
Ø Fourth, we will also respond selectively to general public demand in growing numbers, including students going overseas for degree programs as well as employment seekers in the local job market, who need upgrade training for critical skills (IT, English and communication, etc.)
2.4. Training approach & methodology
Ø In principle, our training programs are demand-driven and should be customized to meet specific needs of each target group to be identified.
Ø To various degrees, a training needs assessment (TNA) should be undertaken to establish the real needs of each target group before an appropriate training course or strategy is developed and chosen and to ensure high quality outputs and impact.
2.5. Potential partners
Ø We are interested in a strategic partnership with IBM (and perhaps with Microsoft as well) to develop and offer training courses for IT and related fields, targeting potential niche markets and major clients (to be identified and confirmed),
Ø We are collaborating with VietnamNet/VASC both as a potential partner and as a major client) to develop training courses for communications and related fields,
Ø We are also seeking partnership with a major international academic institution (such as Westminster University, and the others…) to develop training courses for English and other related fields in order to support mainstream projects.
Ø We are seeking the Nursing parnership to training them in Vietnam for the first year ( for English, foundation of nursing learning… if necessary to meet the clien requirement) and then sending them to oversea to study . And also to develop the Nursing Education in Vietnam.
2.6. Critical assets
Ø A pool of talents is being identified and mobilized by Mrs Nguyen Hong Lien (Globe Ed Chairwoman & CEO) and Mr Nguyen Quang Dy (Globe Ed senior advisor, and a former Harvard fellow & diplomat / journalist). This potential “horizontal” network of like-minded and committed professionals being mobilized and structured either as full-time staff or part-time collaborators would be our critical human assets joining to build up the strength of the emerging Center.
Ø The basic selection criteria for participation in our network are based on commitment to shared vision & objectives, core values and competences, transparency & accountability, professionalism & potential values added, integrity & honesty with a positive attitude.
Ø We maintain extensive contacts and connections with both the government
(at various levels) and the business community as well as the donor
community for possible support and cooperation when required.
